I have it on good authority that a book I coauthored, Mormonism For Dummies, is standard issue to directors of HBO's Big Love series. My coauthor's friend's partner got a gig to direct an episode, and they sent her home with our Dummies book.
I haven't seen Big Love yet, but I'll get the DVDs when the first season is released. My understanding is that the show doesn't actually include much religious or Mormon content, but I'm interested to see it eventually.
I was hoping things like this would happen with this book. It's been quoted by a newspaper in Dallas, and a Salt Lake Tribune reporter told me that his copy was in high demand when he worked in the Tribune's Washington D.C. bureau.
