Right now, I'm going through my Kindred Spirits novel manuscript again to prepare it for publication next month. To the left is the book cover, which features a nice photo of Mount Timpanogos that I found on the web and contacted the photographer about. He agreed to let me use it for $25. In the novel, Mount Timpanogos functions as something as a recurring theme and a symbol.
As I go through the novel, I'm mostly cutting out gross parts that may offend too many readers, as well as some explanatory parts. I'm finding it easier to edit knowing I'm aiming at Mormon readers, rather than hoping to appeal to mainstream readers, which was my goal last time I edited this ms.
I never did hear from Doubleday, so I am doing a "soft" publication of my novel for now, not assigning it an ISBN yet or plugging it into the national grid, on the off chance that a national publisher may still be interested at some point...
