My Novel on MediaPredict.com

Media Predict is a new, free online game where you invest virtual dollars in media ideas of all kinds to predict which ones will become successful in reality.

The game features a wide variety of categories, such as "How Many Copies Will Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Sell in Its First Day?" and "Will Smashing Pumpkins' Zeitgeist Debut at Number One?"

This game has received considerable news coverage, including an article in this week's New Yorker magazine.

My novel titled Kindred Spirits is one of the handful of book proposals accepted for the Media Predict game. Last I checked, it was trading at a 64% chance of success for getting a national book deal.

Media Predict has an arrangement with Simon & Schuster to publish at least one of the game's book proposals, and many publishers and agents are watching the game.

Check it out if you're interested in monitoring or influencing my book proposal or simply finding out more about this intriguing game.

Registration as a Media Predict trader is free, and you get $5,000 in starting virtual funds.

In the meantime, a small-press edition of Kindred Spirits remains available at Amazon.com and Zarahemla Books and elsewhere.

Why is the cover at mediapredict different than this one?

They just made that themselves. They probably don't even know about the Zarahemla edition. From a national market perspective, the book isn't really published yet.

I actually like theirs better. Maybe you could coopt it if you don't score the contract?
